Talaso & Halkano are a Borana couple.
The Borana people in Northern Kenya are said to have left the southern highlands of Ethiopia in the 1500's.
The word 'Borana' is pronounced with the final vowel silent and means "friend" or "kind person". Thus, an unscrupulous individual may be told he/she is not Borana.
